What to Expect
Welcome to Professor Tvelia's Intro to Physical Geology course website. Throughout this course students will study the Earth; its origin, structure, composition and the forces which shape its surface. Plate tectonics will provide the framework for understanding how processes of volcanism, mountain building and earthquakes have shaped the world in which we live. We will also study external forces such as glaciers, streams and ocean waves in order to interpret the landscape, understand the past, glimpse the future.
From this site you have access to all lecture handouts and notes. All lecture notes are posted as Word Documents and as such you will need to have either a current version of Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater installed on your computer to view/print these files. Caution! Lecture notes are simply my talking points and therfore do not contain much information. If you wish to use them please use them just as a guide in your studies.
